You hear what the job involves and what it costs before anything gets touched. If I can't fix it mobile, I'll tell you that there and then instead of starting work and charging you for it.

Everything people ask before they book.
Do you really come to my house?
Yes, that's the whole business. I come to your driveway, your apartment parking, your workplace lot, or the roadside where the car actually died. You don't need a garage or a driveway of your own; a legal, reasonably level parking spot is enough for most jobs.
How much does a mobile mechanic cost in Edmonton?
For most jobs it lands close to what a shop charges, and you save the tow, the rental car and the lost day off work. You get a rough idea on the phone, then a firm estimate once I have looked at the car and before any work starts. Nothing gets added to that bill without your say-so.
What if you can't fix it on site?
Some jobs genuinely need a hoist, an alignment rack or a body shop. If your problem is one of those, I'll tell you on the phone rather than driving out and charging you for the visit. If I only find that out once I'm there, I'll tell you exactly what it needs and where to take it.
Do you work through Edmonton winters?
Cold snaps are when most cars quit, so yes. Batteries, starters, no-starts and diagnostics get handled year round. In deep cold, some longer jobs go faster and safer in a garage or a heated parkade. If you have access to one, mention it when you book and we'll use it.
Can you work on the car while I'm at work?
That's one of the most common bookings. Leave the keys with reception or in an agreed spot, tell me where it's parked, and it's usually done before your shift ends. Just check that your employer or property manager is fine with work being done in their lot.
Do I buy the parts, or do you?
Normally I source them, so the quality and the fit are on me. If you've already bought a part yourself, that's fine too. Tell me before the visit so I can confirm it's the right one and quote labour only.
What does AMVIC licensed actually mean?
AMVIC is the Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council, the regulator for the automotive trade in this province. A licensed business is registered, has to follow Alberta's consumer-protection rules on estimates and invoicing, and you have somewhere official to go if something ever goes wrong. Plenty of mobile operators aren't licensed, so it's worth asking whoever you call.
How do I pay, and is there a warranty?
You pay once the job is finished and the car is running, against an itemised invoice with parts and labour listed separately. Ask when you book and I'll confirm the payment methods I take and the warranty that applies to the specific parts going on your vehicle.
Can you check a used car before I buy it?
Yes. I'll meet you at the seller anywhere in the Edmonton area, go over the vehicle properly and give you a straight read on what it needs and what it's worth dealing with. It's a lot cheaper than finding out afterwards.
